What a lip crayon is

A chubby pencil — usually twist-up — carrying lipstick-strength colour, precise enough to draw the shape and bold enough to fill it.

How it is used. Draw the outline with the edge of the tip, then fill with the flat of it.

The techniques

Draw

A single controlled line, built from short strokes where the hand needs it.

Fill

Colour inside an outline so the shape reads as solid.

Underline

Draw inside the natural lip line to make the mouth smaller and more defined.

Overline

Draw just outside the natural lip line to enlarge the mouth.
